I have a windows server essential as a dc in my domain abc. We have purchased another HP Proliant Server with windows server essential to intsall an erp software. I am trying to add this windows server 2012 r2 foundation join existing domain free windows server essential to my network, but there seems to be problem with that Its asking for either a clean install or server migration. I am unable to add my windows server essential to my network as a member server. Is there any way i can install a windows server essential as a member server in my existing windows server essential domian network.

These are two different products - Windows Server Essentials and Server Standard and each have different licensing requirements.

Improve this question. HopelessN00b I'm not sure this can be resolved in a license friendly way, and if so you really need to contact the person who sold you the foundation server and explain your problem there.
